Ready for Social Media?

With the rise of social media, powerful new marketing channels have emerged wherein consumers share their experiences with a product, brand or company online. As a result, we’re seeing a fundamental shift in the way people shop online, and decide what to buy. Social discovery is driving product recommendations and clicks off site.

So whether you’re just starting out or a seasoned business owner with content (text, graphic, images, video), it’s time to consider paid social promotion on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn as part of your campaign strategy. The dilemma is advertising options on the various social networks are perplexing at best.

Statistics show 80% of social media users prefer to connect with brands on Facebook. Whereas, LinkedIn generates the highest visitor-to-lead conversion rates; almost three times higher when compared to Twitter and Facebook. But that doesn’t clarify the dissimilarity between a Facebook Sponsored Story and a Facebook Promoted Post, or when you should use Twitter as opposed to Facebook.

Facebook

Facebook is emerging as a key way for people to discover what to buy. At Eikon, we work with you to develop an ideal customer profile and identify ways to reach those customers through Facebook. We micro-target based on the pages they like, their interest, their activity both on and offline, overlaying additional targeting parameters, such as age, gender, geolocation, and more.

Lookalike modeling — finding new people who behave like current customers. We target prospects that share the characteristics of your ideal customer. This is incredibly powerful because we begin with a targeted set of prospects that are more likely to convert.

We create multiple versions of sidebar and news feed ads. Ad types include a shared image that also links to your website, a shared link to your website, app download specific ads, amplification of social activity from your customer customers, and normal sidebar ads.

After creating multiple segments of prospects using the targeting methods outlined above, we create a campaign combining each ad with each segment. This results in an extremely large number of campaigns to run for testing purposes. After these campaigns run, we find the winners, stop the losers, and build more campaigns based on the winners. This cycle continues until we have a large, profitable Facebook advertising campaign. We can report back with a cohort analysis that shows the leads or revenue generated over time. You’ll have complete visibility into both the immediate return and LTV (lifetime value) of each campaign.

Twitter

The free market, is in the midst of a revolution. The new tools of social media have reinvented the consumer buying process and tactics once relied on to build brand authority. With Facebook and Twitter and the like, the traditional relationship between consumers and their brands has been upended, making it easier for the powerless to collaborate, coördinate, and give voice to their concerns and preferences.

Although we like to think that we know exactly what we want, and that we are capable of choosing our preferred product, as inexperienced consumers we are in fact notoriously inefficient, which is why as a society we have traditionally always been happy to have “professionals” do the selection process for us. Social discovery and recommendations drive our interactions, brand awareness and perceptions. The Internet is now about interactivity and conversation, and the popularity of internet-connected mobile devices and mobile apps has taken our communication to a new level!
